Click to Pay Online Checkout Progress

A one-click online checkout service called Click to Pay, which is based on EMVCo’s Secure Remote Commerce (SRC) specifications, is being implemented by American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa for all cards worldwide that carry the brands of those networks. Initially, cards issued in the U.S. will be covered by the SRC service. Subsequently, cards issued in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Ireland, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, and the U.K. will be covered, with other markets to follow.

At checkout, entry of the buyer’s email address will trigger presentation of all payment cards they have on file with the SRC service, regardless of network brand. First-time buyers will be prompted to provide the information needed to open an account. The payment icon shown here, which is trademarked by EMVCo, will be displayed at the checkout page of participating merchants.

In the U.S., over 10,000 online checkout pages already enable Click to Pay. They present the option to over 350,000 cardholders who had been enabled in one-click programs previously available from Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Those programs have been discontinued.

U.S. and international payment service providers, payment gateways, and merchant acquirers promoting Click to Pay to their clients include: ACI Worldwide, Aurus, Blackbaud, BlueSnap, Braintree,, Cybersource (a Visa company), Global Payments, Mastercard Gateway Services, Noon Payments, SafeCharge, Square, and Windcave.
