Castles Unattended Terminal

Castles Technology is the 14th largest manufacturer of POS terminals worldwide. EMV adoption, innovations in the unattended retail space and migration from 3G to 4G LTE wireless service have boosted demand for unattended point-of-sale devices by 75% in the last year.

The Castles Saturn1000-E UPT (S1U) is an Android-based terminal designed for vending, micromarket, cooler and kiosk applications. The S1U includes a 5-inch color touchscreen in a low price-point device that accepts magstripe cards as well as EMV contact and contactless payments. The terminal handles QR code payments using a 5-megapixel camera and a barcode scanner module.

Wired connection options include RS-232, USB, MDB and DEX. Wireless connections supported include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth BLE. Certifications for the S1U include PCI PTS 5.x, EMV contact and contactless Level 1, EMV contact Level 2, payWave, PayPass, Expresspay, D-PAS, J-Speedy and QuickPass.

Castles will sell the Saturn1000-E UPT in the U.S., the European Union and Latin America.
