Wallet Hub from ACI Worldwide

Digital wallets in more than six dozen countries worldwide are used by consumers to make payments to merchants in-store, online and in mobile apps.

ACI Worldwide has connected to 200 wallets in more than 70 countries, most of which operate only in a single country. The company offers access to all 200 wallets in its recently launched Wallet Hub via a single API integration within the ACI payment orchestration layer service.

Wallet Hub is aimed at ACI’s multinational merchant customer base. Providing multiple wallets as acceptance methods boosts conversion rates at online merchants.

Making wallets available via a single API saves merchants integration costs with individual wallets that can reach up to $100,000. ACI has engaged agents in every country to handle financial settlement for all Wallet Hub transactions via a national payment system or card network. Wallets are growing in importance worldwide, and ACI is the first company to provide access via a global hub.

In the US, digital wallets account for fewer than 15% of all card payments. However, they account for up to 37% in some European countries and for more than half in China and India. Digital wallets in Africa, best known for money transfers, will see very steady growth for ecommerce payments in coming years.
