After-tax net income for American Express for 2019 slid 2.3% to $6.76 billion on revenue (net of interest expense) of $43.56 billion, an increase of 8.0%. In the United States, consumer and commercial credit (including charge) and prepaid card purchase volume for goods and services grew 6.3% to $820.59 billion.
