The Latin America and the Caribbean (LA&C) region’s 45 largest merchant acquirers based on card payments processed in 2019 are ranked on page 6. Collectively, the top 45 processed 25.34 billion Visa and Mastercard transactions, an increase of 14.3%, from 13.6 million active merchant outlets in the region. Purchase volume (spending for goods and services) tied to those transactions was $731.51 billion, up 6.3%.
