Listed on page 9 are the 44 largest merchant acquirers in Latin America. Collectively they processed 15.74 billion Visa and MasterCard payment card transactions from 5.9 million active merchant outlets in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2014. Purchase volume generated by those transactions was $736.45 billion. The four largest acquirers — Cielo, Rede, BBVA Bancomer, and Prisma Medios de Pago — collectively processed 69% of those Visa and MasterCard transactions.
