Mastercard to Settle UK Litigation

Class action litigation filed in the UK in 2016 that pitted a plaintiffs’ group of approximately 45.5 million individuals aged 16 and above that were residents in the UK between May 1992 and June 2010 against Mastercard appears to have been settled. The litigation concerned the financial impact of higher prices for goods and services paid by cardholders owing to interchange fees that merchants paid to Mastercard card issuers.
