Middle East and Africa Global Network Cards — 2021

Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club credit, debit and prepaid cards issued in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region generated $1.546 trillion in total volume in 2021. This was an increase of 23.3% from 2020. Total volume is the combination of purchases of goods and services with cash advances and cash withdrawals. Cash advances on credit cards and cash withdrawals on debit cards totaled $777.51 billion, an increase of 10.6%. Cash accounted for 50.29% of total volume, a decrease from 56.11% in 2020.
