Nexi to Acquire SIA in Merger of European Payment Companies

Milan-based digital payment company Nexi has signed a memorandum of understanding to acquire crosstown rival SIA’s equity in an all-stock deal valued at $5.30 billion (€4.60 billion), including recurring cash synergies. Both companies provide account processing and payment services. Nexi, whose stock trades on the Milan Stock Exchange, provides cardholder and merchant acquiring processing.
