Quantum-Resistant Cryptography

There is a race in progress between advancements in quantum computing research and the creation of cryptography that is quantum resistant. On behalf of the cryptographers around the world, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) of the U.S. Department of Commerce is reviewing algorithms created to protect against the compromise of legacy information technology and payment security protocols by quantum computers expected to be in use in 6 to 10 years.
