Shift4 Buys Finaro

The 13th largest merchant acquirer in the U.S. ranked by general purpose card purchase volume will expand into Europe and Asia-Pacific with a $575-million all-cash deal to buy merchant acquirer and payment service provider Finaro. Shift4’s acquisition positions it to compete with companies including Adyen, Nuvei and Checkout.com. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the second quarter of this year.
