The 50 largest general purpose payment card issuers in the Latin America and Caribbean (LA&C) region combined generated $714.58 billion in purchase volume (spending for goods and services) in 2019. This group issued 680.8 million credit, debit, and prepaid consumer and commercial cards with global brands—Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Discover, Diners Club, American Express, and JCB.
