Mastercard was tops in purchase volume growth among debit card brands in 2015 with an increase of 8.0%, raising its market share to 21.48% from 21.33% in 2014 among general purpose and private label debit cards. Visa debit card purchase volume grew by 7.9% and its market share grew to 50.85% from 50.51%. Visa and Mastercard debit figures include prepaid cards that carry their brands.
