Visa to Acquire Pismo

Brazil-based banking and payment software provider Pismo will be acquired by Visa for $1 billion in cash. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2023. Pismo received $118 million in two rounds of funding (2016 and 2021) from investors including Accel Partners, Amazon and Softbank. News of the Visa takeover follows the announcement earlier this month that Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) will use Pismo Banking’s cloud-native technology platform to provide high-volume 24/7 processing and real-time data availability to corporate demand deposit account holders in the US.
