Worldline Offers Local Payments in South Korea
Merchant acquiring assets at Worldline in the Asia-Pacific region include its majority ownership (51%-49%) in ANZ’s portfolio of merchant services contracts for the bank’s customers in Australia, ownership of Paymark in New Zealand, operations in India and a new business in Japan. The company also has offices in Singapore and China.
US Card Networks at Midyear 2022
From January 1 through June 30, 2022, American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa credit, debit and prepaid cards combined generated 67.57 billion transactions for purchases of goods and services. There were 6.01 billion more purchase transactions in the first six months of 2022 than the first six months of 2021, an increase of 9.8%.
Middle East and Africa Global Network Cards — 2021
Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club credit, debit and prepaid cards issued in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region generated $1.546 trillion in total volume in 2021. This was an increase of 23.3% from 2020. Total volume is the combination of purchases of goods and services with cash advances and cash withdrawals.
Xpate Instant Settlement for SME Merchants
Payment platform provider Xpate offers support to small and midsized merchants including instant access to funds from ecommerce sales. The company offers that liquidity in partnership with Latvia-based Industra Bank.
Adyen Launches Android POS Devices
Amsterdam-based Adyen, Europe’s seventh largest merchant acquirer, will soon begin marketing two mobile point-of-sale devices. Both were designed in-house and operate on the Adyen platform.
