Antitrust litigation (Block, Inc. v. Visa Inc., E.D.N.Y, No. 1:23-cv-05377) filed July 14, 2023, in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York by Block, Inc., parent company of payment service provider and aggregator Square, alleges that Visa and Mastercard conspired to boost the fees paid by US merchants to accept credit and debit cards.

 

The company seeks damages and injunctive relief, citing that “Visa and Mastercard have used a series of agreements and practices to fix prices, to avoid competition, and protect their market share.”...
