Purchase volume at merchants generated by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Interac brand consumer and commercial credit, debit, and prepaid cards issued in Canada totaled $569.74 billion in 2014, up 6.3% versus 2013. Total volume on these general purpose cards, including cash advances and withdrawals, reached $608.67 billion. Cash accounted for 6.40%, down from 6.72% in 2013.
