Card Fraud Marketplaces Shut Down

Three large marketplaces known to sell illegally obtained credit card and personal information have been shut down. DarkMarket, a dark web enterprise that claimed 500,000 users and 2,400 merchants, closed after its operator was arrested in Germany. The marketplace was launched in May 2019. Europol reports that $170 million in cryptocurrency transactions took place on the site. Another illegal marketplace, ValidCC, closed after claiming that authorities seized its servers.
