Digital Currency Update

The People’s Bank of China said that more than 140 million people have digital yuan accounts, and that 62 billion yuan ($9.5 billion) worth of total CBDC transactions have been processed. Mastercard partnered with three digital-asset platforms to facilitate card issuing and crypto-to-fiat conversion. Amber Group in Hong Kong, Bitkub in Thailand and Coinjar in Australia will be able to issue credit, debit and prepaid cards for use on the Mastercard network.
