The European Mobile Payment Systems Association (Empsa) has been formed by companies in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, and Switzerland. Empsa’s first meetings will be in Zurich in October. Among the association’s goals are the creation of standards to support cross-border interoperability of person-to-person (P2P) and person-to-business (P2B) transactions.
