Desjardins Group’s merchant acquiring business and portfolio of approximately 40,000 merchants will be purchased by Global Payments. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2020. Desjardins ranked 60th largest among acquirers worldwide based on processing 892.3 million Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover/Diners, and Interac card payments in 2018.
