InterPayments, which sells software that sellers use to recoup interchange, network and acquirer fees associated with accepting credit cards, calls itself a managed surcharge provider. The description applies because surcharging credit card transactions involves more than adding a fee to what buyers pay. Sellers must comply with state, provincial and federal rules pertaining to surcharging as well as to card network rules.
