Latin America General Purpose Cards — 2014

Credit, debit, and prepaid Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Diners Club brand general purpose-type cards issued in Latin America and the Caribbean generated $689.63 billion in purchases of goods and services at merchants in 2014, up 15.8%. Visa’s 59.47% market share of purchase volume fell by 95 basis points from 2013. MasterCard’s share grew 141 basis points to 31.83%. American Express’s share at 7.74% slipped 33 basis points.
