M&A in Merchant Processing and Acquiring—2024

There were 74 merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions in the merchant processing and acquiring sector of the payment card industry during 2024. Those deals occurred in 27 countries. There were 27 deals in the United States, 16 in Europe, 11 in Latin America, 9 in Asia–Pacific, 6 in Canada and 5 in the Middle East–Africa region. In 2023, there were 75 M&A deals (in 32 countries) in merchant processing and acquiring. In 2022, there were 122 deals in 34 countries in this sector. Among all 74 M&A deals in 2024, financial details were made known for only 14 transactions. ...
