Mastercard and Visa Cards in the US — 2023

Mastercard and Visa consumer and commercial credit, debit and prepaid cards issued in the US generated $8.806 trillion in purchase volume in 2023, an increase of 6.5% ($537.23 billion) from 2022. All Visa card products combined had purchase volume of $6.214 trillion, an increase of 6.6% ($386.22 billion). All Mastercard card products combined had purchase volume of $2.591 trillion, an increase of 6.2% ($151.01 billion).
