Mastercard and Visa credit, debit, and prepaid cards issued in the U.S. generated $6.021 trillion in purchase volume (spending for goods and services) in 2018, up 9.5% over 2017. Commercial and consumer card products are included in that amount. Purchase volume on Mastercard cards grew 10.9%. Purchase volume on Visa cards increased 10.5%.
