Visa established local operations in Argentina in 2017. Last month, VisaNet began handling all authorization, clearing, and settlement of domestic Visa card transactions in the country, which is Latin America’s third largest card market. Previously, that network function was handled by Prisma, a processor owned by a consortium of 14 local banks and Visa.
