The 50 largest issuers of credit, debit and prepaid general purpose cards carrying global brands and domestic-market-only brands in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region are ranked on pages 12 and 13 based on 2023 purchase volume. These banks issued 220.8 million consumer and commercial cards in 49 countries. Global brand cards are Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, UnionPay and JCB.
