The 50 largest general purpose payment card issuers  in the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region ranked by spending for goods and services combined to generate $696.74 billion in purchase volume in 2018. Collectively they issued 648.3 million credit, debit, and prepaid consumer and commercial cards with global brands—Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Discover, Diners Club, and American Express.
