Figures in the chart above as well as those on pages 8 and 9 show the top U.S. issuers in 2017 of Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover general purpose credit cards. All figures include consumer and commercial (small business, corporate, purchasing, and fleet) credit and charge card products. Outstanding receivables (including securitizations) for U.S.-issued general purpose card brands reached $923.22 billion at December 31, 2017, up 7.3% from $860.64 billion at December 31, 2016. Among the 10 largest issuers, Citibank’s market share increased 5 basis points (bps) to 11.92%...
