American Express, Discover, Visa and Mastercard credit, debit and prepaid cards generated 77.40 billion transactions for purchases of goods and services from January 1 through June 30, 2024. There were 4.40 billion more purchase transactions in the first six months of 2024 than the first six months of 2023, an increase of 6.0%.
