US General Purpose Credit Card Issuers at Midyear 2022

Outstanding receivables owned by the 25 largest US issuers of Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover general purpose credit cards totaled $914.43 billion at June 30, 2022, an increase of $134.64 billion or 17.3% from June 30, 2021. Credit cards issued by the 25 largest collectively generated $2.366 trillion in spending for goods and services from January 1 through June 30, 2022, up 24.8%.
