Skipify Launches Wallet with American Express

American Express is the first US card issuer to partner with Skipify on that company’s Card Linking digital wallet, an ecommerce checkout product that has been quietly in development for nearly three years. Amex has invested in Skipify in three funding rounds since 2021. Online merchants connected to Skipify offer a location to input an email address at checkout rather than entering a card number to initiate a purchase. Skipify initiates transactions by sending a one-time passcode (OTP) to the cardholder’s mobile phone via text or app.
