Machine-based identity verification technology provider and payment company Car IQ has partnered with Visa. The companies see opportunities for payments initiated by vehicles in commercial fleets in the short term and from consumer vehicles and any IoT device (refrigerators, printers, household utilities) with an operating system in the long term.

Car IQ integrates with onboard software and hardware. It replaces a credit card number with a unique ID number created by using data found in a vehicle’s telematics platform.
