American Express reported record profits (net income) for 2018 of $6.92 billion on revenue (net of interest expense) of $40.34 billion. In the U.S., Amex and its partners issued consumer and commercial credit (including charge) and prepaid cards that generated $771.75 billion in purchase volume for goods and services in 2018, up 9.8% over 2017.
