NEC and Mastercard have signed a memorandum of understanding to bring facial recognition to POS checkout locations in the Asia-Pacific region. NEC is a member of Mastercard’s Biometric Checkout program. More than 1,000 active deployments in over 70 countries use NEC facial recognition technology, including police departments, immigration control agencies, national ID systems, banks and stadiums.
