Safecypher offers passive two-factor authentication technology that issuers can deploy to add a dynamic 3-digit (or 4-digit) CVV number within their mobile banking app. Unlike other dynamic CVV technologies, Safecypher’s does not require a new card.

An Post, the state-owned postal service in Ireland, deployed Safecypher’s technology beginning in May 2024 to protect its Mastercard debit cards when used for online purchases. After more than 500,000 transactions using Safecypher, it has not had a single incident of card-not-present fraud.
