Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Diners Club credit, debit, and prepaid general purpose cards issued in Europe generated $2.765 trillion in purchases of goods and services at merchants in 2016, up 6.5%. American Express grew 7.7% over 2015 to $93.64 billion, Visa purchase volume reached $1.818 trillion, up 7.5%. Diners Club grew to $6.71 billion, up 4.4%.
