Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, JCB, Diners Club, American Express, UnionPay, and domestic general purpose consumer and commercial credit, debit, and prepaid cards available from the 50 largest issuers in Europe are ranked on pages 10 and 11. Those top 50 issuers operated from 29 countries. By December 31, 2018, they collectively issued 802.1 million cards that generated $2.943 trillion in purchase volume for goods and services.
