Visa and MasterCard credit, debit, and prepaid cards issued in the U.S. generated $3.629 trillion in purchase volume at merchants in 2014, up 9.4% versus 2013. This spending included all consumer and commercial card products. Visa products grew 9.6%. MasterCard products grew 8.8%. Visa accounted for 68.49% of combined Visa and MasterCard card spending at merchants last year compared to 68.32% in 2013.
