Nets Valued at $4.50 Billion

Nordic region merchant acquirer and cardholder account processor Nets launched as a publicly traded company on Nasdaq Copenhagen on September 23, 2016. The initial public offering (IPO) amounted to more than 52% of the equity in the company. Shares were sold by U.S.-based private equity firms Advent International and Bain Capital and Denmark-based pension fund ATP. Those entities bought Nets for $3.10 billion from banks in the Nordic region including Danske Bank, Nordea, DNB, and the central bank of Denmark in March 2014.
