Seven US banks own Early Warning Services (EWS), which operates the Zelle peer-to-peer (P2P) money transfer system and provides identity and risk management services to more to 2,500 financial institutions to protect demand deposit and other types of accounts against fraud. Owners JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Capital One, PNC, Wells Fargo, U.S. Bank and Truist have used EWS to develop specifications, establish regulations and create the infrastructure for a new online checkout service called Paze.
