Private label store credit cards generated $218.85 billion in purchase volume in 2022, an increase of 5.8%. By comparison, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover general purpose credit cards generated purchase volume of $5.452 trillion in 2022, up 19.5%.
Store card outstanding receivables were up 10.1% last year to $128.86 billion. Outstandings on general purpose credit cards increased 18.2% to $1.104 trillion.
