Purchase volume (spending for goods and services) of the Latin America and Caribbean (LA&C) region’s 50 largest general purpose payment card issuers reached $786.36 billion in 2021, up 28.8% over 2020. Credit, debit and prepaid consumer and commercial cards in circulation with global brands—Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Discover, Diners Club, American Express and JCB—issued by the top 50 grew to 771.9 million.
