Purchase volume on Visa and Mastercard credit, debit and prepaid commercial and consumer card products issued in the US grew 6.3% in 2024, reaching $9.367 trillion. Visa card products combined had purchase volume of $6.583 trillion, up 5.9%. Mastercard card products combined had purchase volume of $2.784 trillion, up 7.4%. The purchase volume market share for Visa versus Mastercard for all products combined was 70.28%. This was a 30 basis points (bps) drop from 70.58% in 2023.
