ACH Payments in the U.S.—2016

FedACH, a service of the Federal Reserve Banks, and private sector Electronic Payments Network (EPN), a business unit of the Clearing House Payments Company, process payments electronically through automated clearinghouse (ACH) networks they operate in the U.S. Combined, they settled 20.33 billion payments last year, an increase of 5.3%. Those payments were valued at $43.778 trillion, up 5.1%. Consumer-related ACH payments reached 17.13 billion last year, up 5.3% versus 2015. They were valued at $13.777 trillion, up 4.4%.
