LG Pay Launches in the U.S.

LG, which held a 15.9% market share of mobile phone shipments to the U.S. in 2018, has launched a mobile wallet in the country. The LG Pay wallet will initially be available only on the high-end G8 ThinQ smartphone. Chase, U.S. Bank, and PNC will support LG Pay. Additional card issuers will be announced before year-end. The LG Pay wallet can initiate NFC-based payments at the point of sale when NFC-enabled card readers are in place to accept that communication protocol.
