The 50 largest issuers of consumer, small business and commercial credit card products carrying the Visa and Mastercard brands collectively owned $870.60 billion in outstanding receivables at year-end 2022. This compared to $838.60 billion for the 50 largest at year-end 2021. The US industry average increase in Visa and Mastercard credit card outstandings was 18.1% in 2022.  Two issuers were new to the top 50 ranking when measuring outstanding receivables at year-end 2022.
