Top 150 Credit Card Issuers Worldwide by Purchase Volume — 2019

Purchase volume (spending for goods and services) generated by the 150 largest issuers of credit cards totaled $11.605 trillion in 2020, a decrease of 7.4% from $12.531 trillion in 2019. The top 10 issuers accounted for 43.3% of purchase volume among the top 150. Those 10 issuers included 6 issuers from China that collectively accounted for $2.556 trillion and 4 issuers from the U.S. that collectively accounted for $2.472 trillion.
