Google Buys MNO Partnerships

All assets of the Softcard mobile payments joint venture company of mobile network operators (MNOs) AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon have been acquired by Google. Terms were not disclosed. Softcard, originally known as Isis, was formed in 2010. Its NFC-based service will soon be shut down.
